Qian Weicheng (1720-1772 AD) was born in Wujin, Jiangsu Province. The word Zongpan is named Tea Mountain. In the tenth year of Qianlong’s reign (1745), he was the No. 1 Scholar, and served as a minister of the Ministry of Punishment. In his early years, he studied painting flowers with his mother Chen, and later he also painted landscapes. He learned from Wang Meng of the Yuan Dynasty and Wang Yuanqi of the early Qing Dynasty, and under the guidance of Dong Bangda, he was the leader of the palace painting garden at that time. The work has the characteristics of dense composition and beautiful brushwork.
