- Description:
Peach blossoms are in full bloom beside the lake stone. Under the tree, a jujube red puppy has white front legs and chest, cocked tail, and head slightly to the rear. It seems that it is attracted by other things and sounds and stops to look around. It looks very cute. The lake rocks and tree trunks are also treated with light and shadow changes. The light and shadow on the dog’s eyes and the color and luster of the hair are similar to those of western light and shadow. Although there is no chronicle on the painting, it is recorded in the archives of the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727) that Lang Shining painted a “Zheerde” dog, which may be the one in Manchu with a red color.
