  Wang Yuanqi (1642-1715), named Lutai, was the grandson of Wang Shimin, a famous scholar in the early Qing Dynasty. He studied landscape painting from his grandfather when he was young. He was a scholar in the ninth year of Kangxi (1670). He was promoted to the Imperial Academy in July of the forty fourth year (1705), and transferred to the Imperial Academy in April the next year. From the bottom left, I wrote “Wang Yuan, a lecturer in the Imperial Academy, painted in Qigong”, which is a masterpiece at this time.
