Lang Shining (1688-1766) Italian. At the age of 19, he joined the Catholic Jesuit Church as a monk. He studied oil painting and architecture. He came to China at the age of 27 and dedicated himself to the inner court with pictures. He served in the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties. He is good at drawing people, flowers and birds, especially dogs and horses. In the eighth year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1743 AD), Ongniot Bel Pensuk paid tribute to a fine horse. Lang was ordered to sketch from life, which is similar in size to a real horse, so it is vivid and realistic.
