Gui food container of Marquis of E, late Western Zhou period (857/53-771 BCE)
caulking, bulging, Double earrings spiral horn animal head, with drooping prominence below. The mouth edge is decorated with two double ring patterns, and the belly is decorated with tile grooves. The ring feet are extravagant along the outside. The ring feet are decorated with a heavy ring pattern and three small heads, each with a foot underneath. The cover has been lost. There are two lines and 16 characters of inscription on the bottom of the vessel, and the repeated text 1: “Marquis Og (E) is the king’s concubine, and the king’s son Yongbao, his son of ten thousand years.”
