    Shen Can (1379-1453 AD), a native of Huating (today’s Shanghai), has the character of popularity. He and his brother Shen Du, who is 22 years old, are also called Ershen. He is good at calligraphy and works in the imperial court. Shen Can is good at cursive writing, learning from Song Xuan and Song Ke in the early Ming Dynasty, and taking part in Zhong You, he writes fluently and elegantly. The content of this picture is written for friends. It describes the royal palace and praises the royal garden. It is composed of five seven character regular poems, which are written in three styles: regular script, Zhang Cao and modern script. The regular script is refined, Zhang Cao is simple, and modern script is indulgent.
