- Description:
According to your knowledge, this picture was made in the first year of Xuande, Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty (1426 A.D.). It depicts two cats licking their paws and resting under a lake stone and a wild chrysanthemum on the third day of the afternoon of the year. The painter deals with the cat’s body in a boneless way. First fill in the background color, and then&# 37390; Scrub hair and stripes to create a fluffy texture. The lake stone is first outlined with lines of different thicknesses, and then the stone surface is chapped with a dry brush. The blooming chrysanthemums are painted with a fine brush. This painting is quite similar to the style of Xuanhe Painting Academy of Huizong in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), with a fresh and elegant atmosphere.
