Zhao Zuo (from 1600-1630), a native of Huating, Jiangsu (now Songjiang, Shanghai), is a literate person. He is good at painting mountains and waters. He was learned by Song Xu (1525 – about 1606), and he and Dong Qichang (1555-1636) were calligraphy friends. He was the main figure of the “Songjiang School” in the late Ming Dynasty.
