- Description:
The white glaze works of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, no matter how thin or thick, are mostly bright white and moist as grease. With this as a container, you can treat the contents, such as the sweet white three series pot stored in the courtyard. The round mouth of this plum vase is a little extravagant, the neck is short, the shoulders are full, the abdomen is gathered, and the feet are shallow dug at the flat bottom. On the shoulder of the utensil, a circle of twig and leaf patterns is lightly carved, with two strings between them. On the abdomen, a tangled lotus pattern is carved. On the bottom edge, two strings are decorated, with six lotus patterns carved. The fetal bone is slightly thick, and the whole body is covered with sweet white glaze. The glaze is bright and white. Modern scholars have verified that the white granulated sugar for daily consumption came out about about the same time. Therefore, since the Ming Dynasty’s “Things cyan beads”, connoisseurs and collectors have always used the fashionable term “sweet white” to describe the Yongle white glaze ware, which is still in use today.
