Cui Zizhong (? – 1644), with the word Daomu, was a famous painter of “deformation doctrine” in the late Ming Dynasty. The shape of square folds in the painting, such as plum branches, trees and stones, is its feature. This painting depicts Su Shi and the monks of Jinshan Temple who lost the jade belt on their waist when they said Buddhist seals. The blue ribbon on Su Dongpo’s hand in the painting may be Cui Zizhong’s imaginary belt. During the third southern tour, Emperor Qianlong remembered Cui Zizhong’s work hidden in the imperial study and ordered someone to express it to Jiangnan to enjoy the postscript. Since then, Cui Zizhong’s axis has also become a regular member of the luggage in the southern tour. He often takes it out at the Jinshan Temple to enjoy the exhibition with Su Shi’s jade belt.
