The shape of the blue and white flat pot is unique to the Yongle period, and it has the characteristics of the times. It has a small round mouth, curly lips, a short neck, a ridge in the middle of the neck, and a small ring button on the side of the neck. One side of the abdomen is round and bulging in the center; The other side is flat and concave in the center. A flower shaped ear is decorated on both sides of the flat edge of the ampulla. The body bone of the whole vessel is thick, and the sand bottom on the back of the vessel is unglazed. You can see the “flint red” and light red spots naturally formed during firing. The front and both sides are covered with glaze, and decorated with blue and white flowers. The neck is decorated with two strings of green materials above and below the ridge, and a layer of plum blossom and Ruyi cloud are painted. The central bulge of the abdomen is painted with waves of sea water, and the surrounding and side surfaces are decorated with freely coiled flower patterns. This blue and white porcelain flat pot is exactly the new shape of Chinese ceramics made in the early 15th century under the influence of Islamic culture. Foley in Washington
