  • Description:
In the early Ming Dynasty, the imperial court had contacts with Central Asia and Western Asia. The shape and decoration of porcelain also reflected the exchange. Many shapes and decorative patterns with Islamic culture came into being. The shape of the long necked pot imitated the brass and pottery of Central Asia. The mouth has a round edge, a long straight neck, flat shoulders, a long barrel shaped abdomen, slightly retracted downward, and a short circle of feet. There is a long flow in front of the neck, the inner edge of the flow mouth is shaped like a gourd, and the back is shaped like a flat handle. The whole vessel is decorated with blue and white flowers. The neck is decorated with intertwined peony patterns, the shoulder is decorated with compound lotus petals, and the upper edge of the abdomen is decorated with a circle of flower and leaf patterns. The main pattern is divided into eight long straight lines, with two peonies, lotus flowers, ganoderma lucidum and other flowers painted inside each box. The circle foot is painted with a circle of grass patterns, which should be a work of the Yongle period. In the Zhushan Site of Jingdezhen, there are also white glazed square shaped long necked holding pots with similar shapes, but the inner edge of the spout is rectangular
