- Description:
The mouth is slightly extravagant, the wall is deep and curved, the upper part is rich and the lower part is closed, the bottom is sharp, and the foot is short. It is called a lotus seed bowl. A circle of ripple pattern is printed along the inner mouth of the vessel, three peonies and chrysanthemums are printed on the wall around the vessel, and the center of the bowl is a folded chrysanthemum pattern. A ripple is drawn along the outer mouth, and the peripheral wall is slightly raised chrysanthemum petal pattern. In contrast to the stipulation that the imperial palace should first decide the sample making when making vessels for use in the 26th year of Hongwu’s reign, we can see that in the early Ming Dynasty, the craftsmen in Jingdezhen and Longquan Kiln achieved their goals by printing, painting with cobalt, or painting.
