Grape grains are clear, hanging down from the branches in clusters, almost touching the ground. This is the layout feature of Chenghua Doucai grape cup decoration. The “grape purple” glaze color presented through this pattern is regarded as a major innovation of Chenghua official kiln. In addition to this shape, the pattern of colored grapes also appeared on the cup of “multicolored grapes with flat belly and mouth”, which is called the Gaozu cup today, which was highly praised by scholars and connoisseurs in the late Ming Dynasty.
