Zhang Hong (1577-1652 AD) was born in Wujun (Suzhou, Jiangsu). He is good at painting landscapes. He uses short brushwork and wet ink to paint mountains, rocks and trees, which is unique, and his composition is often innovative. He often paints with real landscapes, and this picture is an example. Qixia Mountain is located in the suburbs of Nanjing and is famous for its temples and Thousand Buddha Cave. The inscription and postscript were written in 1634, and they were seen climbing the mountain with friends in the rain. In the painting, the clouds are dense and the trees are luxuriant. The path, the temple, and the dense small Buddhist niches are hidden behind them, creating a prosperous world in the huge picture.
