Shen Zhou and his friends often wander around the scenic spots in Wu. The landscape in Wuzhong is not only the theme of Shen Zhou’s poems with his friends, but also the source of inspiration for his painting. Wu Kuan, a close friend of Shen Zhou, thought that the success of poetry and prose was “not like that of painting.” Mountain landscapes such as Tiger Hill and Tianping have all appeared in Shen Zhou’s landscape paintings.
