Comments:The piece of jade (mainly ferroactinolite) used to create the object comes from Guangxi province. It is quite similar in appearance and mineral composition with the dark green nephrite from Taxkorgan, Xinjiang.By making a faithful copy of the British Museum famous bronze, Ma Hongwei is showing that contemporary craftmen are still inspired to reproduce revered objects from the past.
