Description:
Porcelain wine vessel in form of a pair of mandarin ducks, with female’s head lying flat behind that of the drake. Decorated in wucai style with underglaze blue and overglaze green, red and yellow enamels. Water weeds and lotus leaves below the wings. In centre of female’s back, a low neck with lid in form of a lotus seed pod. Spout formed by drake’s beak. Base unglazed.
