Description:
Waterpot in Form of a Lion. Yue ware. Grey, porcellanous stoneware with olive-green glaze; underside unglazed. Animal in hollow form, with four brief legs and round funnel-like opening projecting from the back. Features, fur and other details are partly moulded and partly delineated by incised lines.

Comments:Lion-shaped water potSeveral hundred kiln sites have been discovered in the area historically called Yue. These are mainly located in the areas of Shanglinhu, Dongqianhu and Shangyu.
