Description:
This waterdropper is in the form of a peach and may be filled through the cup attached to the top of the handle. The top of the peach and cup are covered with a cream slip and the vessel is covered with a transparent glaze which shows the purple-grey stoneware body. Peaches are a fruit which according to Chinese mythology if eaten can bestow immortality. Consequently paintings of peaches and objects in peach form were appropriate birthday gifts.
