Comments:Published PDF date : Ming late 16th-early 17th century Room 95 label text:PDF B694Aubergine-shaped kraak-style water dropperThe water dropper is in the form of an aubergine. As demand for the court declined, Jingdezhen potters eagerly accepted orders from middle-class customers in China, as well as exporting wares to Europe and Japan. Workers mined new sources of inferior-quality clay. This clay had a less good fit with the glaze and is characterised by tiny frits (chips) where the glaze is thin. Marine archaeologists have recovered water dropper of this type from the sunken cargo of the ship the San Diego which sank in Manila Bay in 1600 A.D.Porcelain with underglaze cobalt-blue decoration Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province 江西省, 景德鎮Ming dynasty, Wanli period, about AD 1590-1610 PDF B694克拉克風格茄形硯滴硯滴形如茄子。
