Description:
Conical ceramic mould with a flower design. Made of stoneware. Mould was used for nothern greenware bowls and has a relatively deeply cut design. The underside of the thick rim is incised with the character ‘ma’ (horse), probably the family name of the mould maker.

Comments:Rawson 1994:This mould was used for producing greenwares at northern kilns, where the technique was introduced, though it rapidly spread to southern kilns such as Jingdezhen in Jiangxi, and Xicun near Guangzhou.
