Comments:Published PDF date : Qing Qianlong 1736-1795 Room 95 label text:PDF A818 Falangcai vase with European ladies and a boyThis bottle-shaped vase is made of a fine, white, almost eggshell-like porcelain. Its glaze is quite unlike any other in the Sir Percival David Collection. Porcelain decorators, within the Qing palace, painted it in delicate overglaze enamels to show a pastoral scene of two seated ladies and a little boy. The decorators employed a style of painting which uses perspective in the manner of a contemporary eighteenth century European painting. Many features mark the present vase as perhaps an experimental piece. For example, the pink border around the neck with green shading is rarely used at the palace and never at Jingdezhen. The mark on the base is unusual too: a four-character Qianlong mark within a double square in iron-red enamel.Porcelain with transparent glaze made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, overglaze enamels added in Beijing素瓷器: 江西, 景德鎮燒 製; 北京加琺瑯彩Qing dynasty, red enamel Qianlong mark and period, AD1736–95 PDF A818琺瑯彩歐洲女士男童圖瓶這件瓶子瓷胎細白,幾乎薄似蛋殼。
