Comments:Published PDF date : Qing Kangxi 1662-1722 Room 95 label text:PDF B562 Vase with powder-blue glazePotters blew the colour onto the glaze to decorate this vase. Potters took a bamboo tube covered with silk gauze and blew ground cobalt through it onto the moist transparent glaze. After firing at a high-temperature, they added gilt designs. This type of Chinese monochrome was very popular in Europe where it was copied successfully in England at the Worcester and Bow porcelain factories around 1760.
