Comments:Imitations of Jiangsu Yixing wares were not exclusive to Europe. Indeed red and purple tea wares, utilitarian vessels and miscellaneous collectables were made in the Yixing mode at other ceramic manufacturing centres in China. For example, this stoneware vase, modelled after an Eastern Zhou bronze bell of the 4th century BC, complete with inscriptions in ancient forms, is dated 17th year of Jiajing (AD1812) and is marked with its place of manufacture, Tingzhou, located in Western Fujian province. It also bears the signature of the calligrapher and scholar-official Yi Bingshou (1754-1815), a native of Ninghua, Fujian province.
