Description:
A rectangular fragment of Liao samite, compound twill weft-faced on both sides, displays a pattern of two flying geese in white outlined in blue, holding flowers in their beaks. The flowers and vines are executed in white, green and yellow colours, against a red ground. Weave structures: Inner warp: silk, untwisted, single, pale red, 16 ends/cm; Binding warp: silk, untwisted, single, pale red, 16 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, red for the ground, yellow, green, white, dark blue and light blue for the pattern, 19 passes/cm. Weave structure: 1/2Z compound twill weft-faced on both sides; Proportion of weft on front to wefts underneath: 1:4 normally, but 1:5 partly. 長方形緯錦殘片，殘留面積較小。織物以藍色勾邊織出白色飛雁展翅，口銜花枝，相背而飛，此外則是黃、綠、白相間在紅地上織出花卉紋樣。 組織結構： 經線：明經：絲，無撚，單根排列，淺粉色，16根/cm；夾經：絲，無撚，單根排列，淺粉色，16根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，紅色作地，黃、綠、白、深藍、淺藍色顯花，19副 /cm；組織：1/2Z向斜紋1:4遼式緯重組織，局部爲1:5遼式緯重組織。
