Description:
This narrow strip of colourful samite was woven with warps in red and wefts in red, dark blue, white, bright yellow and dark green and can be identified as a Sogdian samite. The motif probably comprises floral roundels, but the fragment is too small to be certain of the design. Weave structures: Inner warp: silk, Z twisted, paired, red, 36 ends/cm; Binding warp: silk, Z twisted, single, red, 18 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, red, dark blue, white, yellow and dark green etc., 20 passes/cm. Weave structure: 1/2S weft faced compound twill. 狹長形緯錦殘片，色彩豐富，經線紅色，緯線有紅、深藍、白、亮黃、深綠等色，因殘留面積較小，具體紋樣不清楚，有可能是一種團花圖案。從織造技術來看，它可以較明確地歸入粟特錦的範疇。 組織結構： 經線：明經：絲，Z撚，單根排列，紅色，18根/cm；夾經：絲，Z撚，雙根排列，紅色，36根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，紅、深藍、白、亮黃、深綠等色，20副/cm；組織：1/2S向斜紋緯重組織。
