Description:
This rectangular fragment of weft-faced compound lozenge twill silk was woven with brown, beige, green and white colours into a coloured lozenge pattern, with a repeat of 1.7 cm in the warp and 1.9 cm in the weft direction. This weave structure derived from the popular samite weave of the Tang dynasty, and was also used in silk textiles during the Liao dynasty. The fragment can probably be dated to the late Tang or Five Dynasties. Weave structures: Warp: Outer warp: silk, untwisted, single, white, 20 ends/cm; Inner warp: silk, untwisted, single, white, 20 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, single, brown, beige, green, white, 40 passes/cm; Weave structure: 1:2, 1/2ZS weft faced compound lozenge twill. 長方形的菱形斜紋緯錦殘片。用棕色、米色、綠色和白色織成有彩條格的菱形圖案，經向循環爲1.7cm，緯向循環爲1.9cm。其組織是將唐代最爲流行的三枚斜紋緯錦變爲四枚菱形斜紋，這種以四枚菱形斜紋爲基本組織的遼式緯錦在遼墓中也有出現。因此，這一織物的年代可能在晚唐和五代之際。 組織結構： 經線：明经：絲，無撚，單根排列，白色，20根/cm；夹经：絲，無撚，單根排列，白色，20根/cm；緯線：絲， 無撚，單根排列，棕色、米色、绿色、白色，40副/cm；組織：1:2，1/2ZS菱形斜紋經重組織。
