Description:
Five fragments of Liao samite, compound twill weft-faced on both sides, with a floral pattern, white for the ground, dark blue, green, red and yellowish brown etc. for the pattern. A selvage is kept on MAS.927.e, 0.6cm wide, woven with three pale red and nine white warps in the structure of 1/2Z twill. Weave structures: Inner warp: silk, untwisted, paired, pale red, 18 pairs/cm; Binding warp: silk, untwisted, single, deep red, 18 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, white for the ground, dark blue, green, red and yellowish brown for the pattern, 12 passes/cm. Weave structure: 1/2Z compound twill weft-faced on both sides. 遼式緯錦殘片，共有五片，以白色緯線作地，深藍、綠、紅、土黃等各色緯線顯花，大型花卉紋樣。其中MAS.927.e一側留有寬約0.6cm的幅邊，以1/2Z斜紋織成，邊經由3根淺紅色經線和9根白色經線構成。 組織結構： 經線：明經：絲，無撚，單根排列，深紅色，18根/cm；夾經：絲，無撚，雙根排列，淺紅色，18雙/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，白、深藍、綠、紅、土黃，12副 /cm；組織：1/2Z斜紋遼式緯重組織。
