Description:
Of a group of eight fragments in this bi-coloured twill damask, two are now in the British Museum collection and six with the same Stein number in the V&A collection. The pattern, with yellow flowers on a cream ground, is on a large-scale. One strip comprises two pieces joined together with pink stitching and there is one selvedge intact, 0.8 cm in width in the structure of 3-end twill. Another fragment has the remains of stitching around its edges. Very few textiles with the large flower motifs have survived in complete repeats, which can measure 30-40 cm across. Weave structures: Warp: silk, untwisted, single, yellow, 44 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, single, yellow, 22 lats/cm. Weave structure: 1/5S twill for pattern on 2/1S twill for foundation. 黃色暗花綾殘片，共8塊。其中2塊收藏于大英博物館，6塊收藏於V&A博物館（LOAN:STEIN.634），其圖案爲某個大型花卉紋樣的局部，其中一塊織物一側殘留有寬約0.8cm的三枚斜紋幅邊。 組織結構： 經線：絲，無撚，單根排列，黃色，44根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，單根排列，黃色，22根/cm；組織：2/1S向斜紋組織地上以1/5S向斜紋組織顯花。
