Porcelain teapot in form of a bamboo section. The teapot has crazed cream glaze. There is a carved and relief design of bamboo branches on one side, and an incised inscription on the other side.

Beiyanshi zuo ‘With half a bamboo [-shaped pot] of pure tea it is time to reminisce. Made by Beiyanshi’.) Beiyan (literally: ‘northern rock’) was the alias of Shen Xiangling, style name Fuxiuzi, a native of Renhe, Guangdong province. He lived during the Qianlong period and was renowned for his kaishu (regular script) calligraphy.
