Tea-caddy tray. Coat of arms of Stuart; painted “Or a fess chequy azure and argent”; crest, “A demi lion rampant gules”. One of two services certainly ordered at the same time and probably for James and William, the second and fourth sons of John, 3rd Earl of Bute, Prime Minister in 1762 and 1763. Made of enamelled porcelain.
