Set of five tea-bowls. Underglaze blue with stylised flower sprays supporting shou characters. On the interior of each porcelain bowl is a similar flower spray and shou character in a double circle. There is an inscription on the base.

These cups are table wares which were made in sets of five for Japanese clients. Outside they are painted with flowers. The bases have apocryphal大明年製 (da Ming nian zhi ‘made in the Great Ming period’) on their bases.
