Description:
Table-cloth, part of tea-set (1895,-.133-140). Rectangular in shape, and made from four pieces (each circa 29 cms wide) of warp dominant tabby striped cloth, made from cream and brown woollen yarn. Groups of solid and ‘interrupted’ cream strips alternating with wider brown stripes. Selvedges at the longer sides. Warp ends turned and hand stitched. A red/blue woollen band (twined) across the narrowest, outermost piece. A diamond-shaped piece of red tabby woollen cloth stitched with cream-coloured yarn to the centre top of the cloth. Small areas of damage throughout.
