Comments:New designs, such as three-dimensional feline dragons, entered the jade repertoire at the end of the Zhou dynasty and spread during the Western Han period. It is possible that such intricate jade carving was stimulated by the wooden fittings used on swords and their scabbards in the Chu state, again suggesting that it was in the Chu area that jade for sword fittings was popularised.
