Chinese porcelain snuff bottle; flattened and oval; on one side is a crude flower; on the other an inscription; the edges and what remains of the neck are green with raised dots; slightly fractured.

Comments:This was once thought to be identical to 1857,0427.1 (see M&LA register) now Franks 660+, which is Chinese, reputedly from Egypt, presented by Rev.J.W. Neligan (?). However, the present piece was found by Layard at Tell arban in north-east Syria.
