Snuff-bottle (with stopper), decorated on one side with two devoted sisters holding fans and documents, taotie design and ring shoulders. The reverse shows a fan with fish and a poem, also calligraphy and rubbings. Made of painted rock crystal (quartz); also jadeite (stopper).

Comments:Rawson 1992:The stoppers are not always made of the same material as the bottles. Snuff bottles show the Chinese love of working on a miniature scale. Seen also BM 1945.1017.314; BM 1936.0413.76; BM 1986.0306.14; BM 1945.1017.361 and 296; and BM 1936.0413.70.
