Description:
Glass snuff-bottle with flattened circular body, short tubular neck and oval base with ringed foot. Made of mould-made clear semi-opaque glass overlaid with blue. Decorated with mock ring handles incised with animal faces. The front and back are decorated with glass medallions covering a layer of gold dust and painted on the inside with grasshoppers and vegitables.

Comments:This type of clear glass with small ground up pieces possibly white glass was once called ‘snowflake glass’ by western connoisseurs. Also called lotus root powder in the late 19th century Hugh Moss 2 August 2018
