Snuff-bottle (with stopper). Made of chalcedony, agate carved with waves with a natural red skin with a bat flying above the setting sun. Stopper made of red glass imitating coral, with similuted pearl finial.

Comments:Rawson 1992:The stoppers are not always made of the same material as the bottles. Snuff bottles show the Chinese love of working on a miniature scale. Seen also BM 1936.0413.76; BM 1945.1017.361, 296 and 318; and BM 1936.0413.70.
