Comments:Rawson 1992:The stoppers are not always made of the same material as the bottles. Snuff bottles show the Chinese love of working on a miniature scale. Seen also BM 1945.1017.314; BM 1945.1017.361, 296 and 318; and BM 1936.0413.70.Hugh Moss suggests that these ivory carved bottles might be Japanese rather than Chinese.
