Description:
Square bronze seal with a broad half-hoop handle. The corners of the seal are rounded, the face much corroded. According to Stein (1921a, p.248) only two of the four characters, written in angular seal writing, are still legible. The remaining characters can be read as “- – zhang yin” (長印), meaning “seal of the senior official – -“.

Face, considerably worn and corroded, contains four Chinese characters, in angular seal writing, of which only two on R. hand are decipherable, viz. – – chang yin [chang yin], ‘seal of the senior official of – -‘ [Mr L.C.
