Ivory seal, with the top carved with a mythical creature climbing through a round jade disc bi. The long inscription on the base is a couplet for the Chess Pavilion (shenqi lou) in Nanjing by Xu Huaisheng (b. 1868). The inscription was carved in relief in seal script.
