Comments:The inscription 茂盛货兑 or ‘The Stamp for Goods of Maosheng’ on the base suggests that this seal stamp once belonged to a shop or trading house named Maosheng and was used to stamp on paperwork for goods being delivered in or out. The characters were inscribed in semi-cursive or xingshu (行书) script in relief. There is an edge around the base of the seal to serve as frame when the seal is stamped. The character 上 or ‘uppertop’ on the top of the seal is used to indicate the direction when stamping the seal.
