Seal made of soapstone . The object is a Chinese-style seal with a rectangular base and a looped knob called tile knob (瓦鈕). The depiction of a phoenix (?) has been incised in the base.

Comments:Stein, Serindia, p. 118, pl. V: “Yo.00159. Seal of yellowish white soapstone. For shape and material, cf. Yo.0089; but here a carefully cut shank rises from flat back of seal. Device, a crane (?), L., with ruffled-up wings and small triangular tail. Base c. 5/8 inch sq. H. ½ inch. Pl.V.”
