Cover for scroll As1933,0508.121; woven patterning. Wide; rectangular, with short ends gathered together and covered with a circular ‘button’ made from red tabby wool cloth. Ground made of natural cream tabby cotton ground (warp dominant); pink/red and blue stripes and geometric patterning (including varied diamond motifs and swastikas); latter worked in discontinuous supplementary weft. ‘Button’ and longer sides piped with blue tabby cotton cloth. Five pairs of plied cords (two missing). Lined with coarser cream cotton cloth. Tibetan text on applied strip of cloth [black ink on cream ground] near edge.
