Description:
This pair of porcelain saucer dishes have lobed rims and stand on low foot rings. The dishes are incised with a design, then enamelled in green on a yellow ground and the inner and outer rim, foot ring and central medallion are outlined in aubergine enamel. Inside is a full frontal dragon and two further dragons, chasing flaming pearls are shown in the cavetto. Flowers replace the usual cloud motifs surrounding the dragons. Outside there are eight flowers including chrysanthemum, camellia and peonies. The base carries an apocryphal six-characher kaishu Xuande reign mark in underglaze blue in a double ring.
