Description:
This small saucer-dish is decorated in Ming doucai style, inside with a central scene of a scholar dressed in a red robe seated in a garden beneath a pine tree with books and wine jars beside him. This figure is attended by a servant carrying a tray. Outside the saucer-dish is painted with two bamboo branches. The base carries a six-character apocryphal Chenghua reign mark in a double ring in underglaze blue.
