Comments:The scene depicted in made in Kakiemon-style. The composition is stiff and awkward but with an overall Japanese appearance, looking as if the individual motifs had been copied from a decorator’s notebook, and combined to compose a ‘Japanese’ scene (Espir, 2005). See also BM Franks 1446.
