Description:
Porcelain dish with underglaze blue decoration. This saucer dish has shallow rounded sides and a tapering foot. The glaze does not fit the dish perfectly. It is painted inside with a medallion containing a ‘lingzhi’ fungus spray and emerging from the rim are the Three Friends of Winter: prunus, bamboo and pine. The base is marked with an apocryphal mark of four characters in a tight script which read: ‘Longqing nian zhi’ [Made in the Longqing reign].
