Description:
This saucer, made of famille rose enamelled porcelain, is known to have been decorated in England by James Giles about 1756. The arms are of the Hayes family and show three wolves heads. The arms were confirmed in 1613 by William Camden, Clarencieux, to Thomas Hayes, Lord Mayor of London. There is a teapot to this service in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, a covered jug in the Victoria and Albert Museum. A teacup and saucer in the British Museum.
